Just received the Hand File Worked Campolin/AIK Italian MALTESE w/Horn & Dagger.....Adams came through again in excellent fashion again. The knife was a little lighter than expected upon first picking it up but then I realized why when I saw the exquisite file work done on the main spring and upper and lower portions of the liners. Fantastic job done by the knifesmiths. The intricate detail is amazing....very precise and even throughout. The horn handle displays a unique pattern that makes this particular knife truly one of a kind. The safety is smooth but not loose and operates perfectly. The blade itself did not deploy as fast as I would of thought but the blade is also very robust and of considerable dimension. The kicker spring protrudes outside the liners and it is apparent that it is also quite robust and strong. Upon further examination there is some side to side wobble but very minute. The blade locks up with authority and immediately without any drag. The lock works as it should and the blade locks up tight. The rear lock is also serrated and easily unlocks the blade but enough effort is required to press down so there is no concern for unintentional unlocking. I found two of the forward pins were just very slightly protruding beyond flush but not enough to spoil the visual appeal or the feel of the knife in hand in fact one would have to look very closely to notice. The blade itself could use a sharper edge but that is easily remedied. The knife was packaged very securely and protected by careful packaging. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase of this welcome addition to my collection and look forward to ordering more knives in the future.
