(Early Production 1984) Puma Solingen WAIDBLATT Model 11-3588 Fixed Blade Hunter with Green Leather Sheath and Wood Display /Storage Box

Early Production piece (Made in the second half of 1984). This high quality fixed blade skinner is usually part of set that included the "Hunter's Pal" skinner and was dubbed the "Super Set". You usually don't find the Waidblatt offered by itself. The Waidblatt (German for "Wide Blade") is one of the most recognized of the Puma line, (along with the White Hunter), and is highly sought after by collectors. Puma Knives date back to 1769 and were at one time were among the finest made "production" knives in the world.

Handmade in Solingen, Germany the early production models are held in the highest esteem among collectors and those who use them in the field.  Early Puma models have a serial number (usually located on the guard) which can be dated.(This one is serialized 40482 ). They also have been Rockwell tested for hardness (on the backside of the blade).

Features a 8 1/2" hand forged blade made of premium Solingen Stainless. Blade is etched with the Puma name and logo and model number.  Measures 13" Overall. Nickel Silver finger guard and butt cap..
