Charlie Dake Custom Handmade D/A Double Action = (Auto or Manual) with Black Lip Mother of Pearl, Eggerling Damascus Bolsters & Hand File Work

 Charlie Dake was originally an engineer who started making knives in the late 80's. He specialized in switchblades/auto knives when at the time they were much more restrictive in many states; (even his home state of Louisiana), and was one of the first custom makers to offer autos to collectors. 

 Hurricane Katrina destroyed his knife shop in 2005, and he never fully recovered and never went back to knifemaking after that. He was one of the most innovative makers of his time and produced timeless automatics which appeal to collectors today as much as they did in the 90's.  He unfortunately is now deceased and his work has become very collectible

This unique "Double Action" auto operates automatically or manually. Features a Stainless Frame with Eggerling Damascus Bolsters with a Damascus Flush Mounted Oval Push Button. Leaf Spring Activated / Side Opening Auto that operates by pressing on the flush mounted recessed oval push button or operates manually with the Black Lip Pearl inlaid thumb stud. Silky smooth manually opening or superfast auto action.  

Satin finished  3" Dagger Style Blade features Razor Sharp ATS-34 stainless.  Measures 3 7/8" closed. Features Hand File Work on the liners, backspring, and inside of the backspring. Features Rock-Solid Lockup.

Outstanding quality piece! A blast to operate! Lots of detail work. Damascus flush button release blends in with the knife's bolsters so no one will realize it's an auto.  Tang is marked with the maker's name "DAKE" and backside is serialized 0203 (which is the knife #).
