Vintage PRESTO "Paratrooper Style" "Swing Guard" Switchblade KNIFE with Jigged Bone Handles

Presto was the name George Schrade (Bridgeport, Conn) used for the majority of their knives. This model Measures 5" closed. Overall length is 8 3/4".  The 3 1/2" Mirror polished Clip point Blade is marked "PRESTO  PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN USA" on the front of the tang and "GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T CONN." on the backside.

 Mirror Polished Blade is razor sharp and shows visable scratches on both sides, but is clean with little staining. Handles are actual "Jigged Bone" with nickel silver bolsters and a unique shaped swing guard that folds down and opens with the blade. Construction is tight, No gaps. 

Handles are nice, however the button and safety area have been modified, (enlarged), by the previous owner for easier access. Safety is fully functional. Action and lockup is excellent with minimal blade play. Guards "stick" in the upward position when the button is deployed, but fall down after the blade opens.

Blade tip seats below the liners; (no blade peek). Blade is nicely centered. Action is excellent with nice lockup, (Minimal up/down blade movement in the open position). Priced to sell quickly. Condition = Very Good.. Includes a custom zippered storage pouch.
