Vintage Root Beer Brown Colonial SHUR SNAP FISHTAIL Switchblade
[SHURSNAP-RBE]

Early 50's era Vintage American Colonial SHUR-SNAP "FISHTAIL" Pattern Switchblade with Root Beer Brown Swirl Composition Handles

Colonial Brand SHUR-SNAP FISHTAIL Pattern Switchblade. This model was made in the early 50's (based on the karge sized push button)  Features Root Beer Brown Swirl Composition Handles. Some slight shrinkage of handle material. Some slight deterioration on the front side of the handles.

Measures 4" closed. The 3 1/4" Mirror polished clip point blade shows staining and pitting but is full.  Tang is marked "SHUR-SNAP COLONIAL PROV USA USA". No markings on the backside of the tang.  Handles show some slight shrinkage. Tin Bolsters. Steel liners.

Sliding safety works. Action is good. Blade has good lockup with minor side/side & up/down play. Blade "seats" deep into the handle below the liners.  Unusual in that this model has steel liners rather than brass. Overall a  decent example of a vintage American classic.  Includes a custom zippered pouch. If you don't own a SHUR-SNAP, this would make a nice example.
