Vintage Schrade Cut Co N.Y.  "Paratrooper" Style 4 1/4" Single Pattern Switchblade with Black Jigged Delrin Handles. 

Vintage piece from the 1940's this piece features Black jigged delrin handles with steel liners and a polished steel top bolster. Spring Action is superb with excellent lockup=( up/down blade movement in the open position) . Very clean piece. 

Safety works fine. Blade seats deep in the handle and is centered nicely. Has rivet cracks on the front and back side at the top rivets. No handle shrinkage since delrin typically does not shrink like celluloid . Measures 4 1/4" closed. Overall open is 7 1/4". 3 1/8" Blade is full and shows some signs of light staining and scratches on both sides but is overall very clean for it's age.. Overall very good condition. Front side of the Tang is marked "SCHRADE CUT CO  WALDEN N.Y."  Backside of the tang is marked (U.S. PATS. DEC. 21, 09. SEPT. 13, 10. JUNE 6, 16.)

Schrade is now out of business and these have become a highly sought after for both knife and military collectors. Includes a custom zippered storage pouch. Highly Recommended. Nice examples like this are hard to find. Models marked "SCHRADE CUT CO" are earlier made models than models marked "SCHRADE WALDEN" and thus, are much harder to find, more collectible, and valuable.
