Gerber Early TOUCHE Zytel Frame Belt Buckle Knife
[GB-BBZ]

Gerber Early Production (1980's era) TOUCHE Brass Belt Buckle Knife with Eagle Scrimshaw Handle.

Early piece in the original display box. 1980's era piece was very popular when it was released and was designed by the late/great Blackie Collins. This is the lighweight Zytel version (there was also a brass version), along with a slim version for dress pants later on. The knife hidden in the buckle rotates and can actualy be utilized as a self defense piece in a pinch.

Slip joint design (blade does not lock) but is very sharp (440 Stainless). Stainless handle is marked on the backside "Touche by Gerber Portland, Ore. 97223 USA" . It measures 2 3/4" L x 1 3/4" W with a 1 7/8" blade length. Zytel frame is also marked the same plus "PAT.PEND" which means this was a first production model, as later models actually had a patent # on them.

This item is Totally Mint. Has been in storage since it was purchased. The packaging is a plastic woodgrain display box; (like a watch box), with the original paperwork. Made when Gerber was in their "heyday". They were known for making lots of innovative and unique quality knives...(a long time ago and sadly a lot has changed).
