Gerber Original (80's era) "PAUL" Button Lock Model 2PW with Factory Leather Sheath

Original Button Lock Folder by Gerber designed by Paul Poehlmann. It is a manual operated button lock folder. The blade locks in the both the open and closed positions and the button must be pressed to open and close the knife. Gerber introduced this model in the early/mid 80's and again in the late 90's. The Paul design was used by Lone Wolf and was eventually by Benchmade who purchased Lone Wolf and "shelved" the pattern. 

This is the Original Paul manufactured by Gerber. It features a stainless frame with Hardwood Overlays. It is marked "1" on the inside of the backspring which means it was a first production piece. Measures 3 1/2" closed. 420HC Stainless blade measures 2 1/2" with a 2 1/8" sharpened edge. USA Made by Gerber and no longer in production, the tang is marked "PAUL MODEL 2P" on one side and "GERBER PORTLAND OR 97223".  

Button is marked "U.S. PAT 3942240" Includes original clamshell box with sleeve. Unused /Uncarried /Unused..Includes Factory Leather Belt Sheath.(which is actually more rare than the knife). Sheath is Mint. Rare Find.
