Handmade Picklock Switchblade with Buffalo Horn by Antonio Contini with Eagle Hand Engraving by Italian Engraver Pierpaolo Pontis

Handmade by Sardinian maker Antonio Contini Measures 13 1/8" overall open with a 6 1/8" satin finished blade that features N690 Stainless Steel. Blade is marked "A CONTINI" with the island of Sardianian on the tang. 

Buffalo Horn Handles (Contini calls the horn "Flamed Horn") with Hand Engraved Brass bolsters by Italian Engraver Pierpaola Pontis. Picklock release;  (means you must take your thumb and index finger and pull back where the blade locks open to unlock the blade). 

 Operates by pressing on the retangular button. Features positive automatic action via leaf spring. Unlike switchblades of Maniago, Sardinian knives from Sardinia do not have a safety, this is by design, as the Sardinian clan makes switchblades for self defense and believe a safety would slow the deployment. Operates via Leaf spring (not a "drop in" spring). Measures 7 1/4" closed. Features very fast auto action. Blade has some very slight up and down blade movement when open.

Includes a typical Italian gift box and signed Certificate from Contini. Hefty piece (weighs 14.5oz). This piece is new/mint and was purchased by special order direct from the maker.. Rare chance to own a custom handmade switchblade from Sardinia, Italy. Note the stark difference from the Sardinian made, and Maniago, (Campolin) made models.
