Very Rare Early Production (2/95) Microtech "Combat Front Opener" "CFO" Front Opener.

This was Microtech's second knife they released..(The first being the Mini UDT in late 1994). This was their First Production Front Opening Knife that Marfione made and of course "pre-dated" the HALO series which came shortly thereafter.

The "Combat Front Opener" or (CFO) is extremely hard to find, and is very similar to the HALO I, with the main difference being the HALO 's ventilated blade. The CFO Features a 4" bead blast finished blade made of ATS-34 stainless. Blade is serialized, (127), and dated, (2/95). The 6" Gray Anodized Aluminum Handles feature a re-charging handle that extends out from the butt/rear of the handle. Non-slip rubberized grips on the sides of the handles with a polished stainless release button. Overall length open is 10". 

The CFO is considered by many to be the fastest front opener Microtech ever made, (along with the CFO II which came much later); this one won't disappoint you. Excellent Condition with original plain white box which came before the gold jewelry style box. Rare find! ..

Some beginning collectors don't even realize there was such a knife produced by Microtech. Superb example of a old school Microtech. These don't come around very often. Don't miss your chance to add it to your collection.

Condition is very good-excellent. Gray bead blast blade shows some wear marks on the flats and at the tang, but this is normal from the mechanism. Some light marks toward the tip of the blade (this is relatively common on ATS-34 bead blast models). This piece was never used, carried or sharpened.

  ...Opened several times and stored in a safe since purchase. Includes the original heavy duty belt sheath; (a Kydex Rig was added later in the production run of this model).  Nice example with one of the lowest serial #'s we've had. Interestingly, we sold this very knife to the original owner way back in 1995, and now have the pleasure of offering it to another budding collector for their vintage collection.
